Sig Sauer Carry Elite Dark – Wrong Slide?

Okay, so maybe I’m not the most observant individual, especially when it comes to cool new firearms that I’ve waited months to get.

It wasn’t until after my first range session with the new Sig Carry Elite Dark that I noticed there weren’t any front cocking serrations in the slide. I checked Sig’s site, and it does indeed say the Elite Dark comes with front serrations. Also, nowhere on the slide does it say “Elite.”

Upon further research and looking up a ton of pics online, it appears that Sig shipped this pistol out with a standard P220 slide. Such a thing doesn’t really bother me. However, should I ever decided to sell this firearm, I think I’d be hard-pressed to convince a knowledgeable potential buyer that the pistol is truly a factory elite.

I called Sig to make sure there wasn’t a production change, and was advised there wasn’t. When I told the representative of the peculiarities of my P220, he suggested I send it in for a slide swap.

Shortly thereafter I received a UPS shipping label and instructions in an email from Sig. The rep stated it would probably be about 3 weeks turnaround.

I’ll ship it off tomorrow.
